The classes at Ron’s home studio are more than watercolor painting workshops - they are total immersion in the subject. Limited to no more than six students, one-on-one time with Ron is plentiful and tailored toward each person’s painting needs.

In addition to the studio, students are encouraged to make themselves at home throughout the house, browsing through the library of hundreds of books on painting, and perhaps borrowing one for after class reading. The house contains a collection of original watercolor paintings by some of the finest artists in the world - and they are not just decorating the walls - Ron uses them all in explaining the various artists’ approach to design and technique. Artists have always learned from the paintings of those who came before them, which Ron says, is the reason he has written so many books on the work of his favorites, in addition to many books on his own techniques.

His style is impressionistic and traditionalist, and his work is renowned for its purity of design and clear, transparent colors. He paints with his signature version of the oriental hake brush, teaching his students freedom of expression and simplicity. Painting decisively and quickly, Ron is a master of timing.

Lunch, coffee breaks, and wine at the end of the painting day are included. Good food, conversation, laughter, and new friendships: life was meant to be this good!
