Ron Ranson is an English artist, teacher and author who lives in Portland, Oregon in the USA. He is one of the world's most traveled watercolor teachers, giving workshops and private tuition to students on every continent for many years. Ron is an artist of great patience and good English humor!

His style is impressionistic and traditionalist, and his work is known for its purity of design and clear, transparent colors. He paints with his own version of the oriental hake brush, teaching his students freedom of expression and simplicity. Painting decisively and quickly, Ron is a master of timing.

Ron's twenty-five books are translated and sold worldwide. Contributing to many, many art magazines, he was the first editor of the prestigious publication, The International Artist.

Ron now divides his time between the west and east coasts of the US. Workshops are held at his home in Oregon, and at his second studio in Wintergreen, Virginia.
